Mission

The mission of the Abiff Lodge #21 Scholarship is to support the academic and personal growth of deserving students by providing financial assistance and mentorship opportunities. Rooted in the Masonic principles of Brotherly Love, Relief and Truth, we aim to empower future leaders who will uplift their communities through knowledge, service, and integrity.

Through Abiff Lodge #21 Scholarship, we aspire to be a lasting beacon of opportunity that strengthens both individuals and the communities they serve.

Qualifications & Requirements

Eligibility

  • Education Status — Must be a graduating high school senior or currently enrolled undergraduate student at an accredited college or university.
  • Academic Achievement — Minimum GPA of 75 on a 4.0 scale. (Attach official or unofficial transcript.)
  • Residency — Must be a resident of Michigan
  • Community Involvement — Demonstrated participation in school, church, or community service activities.
  • Character — Must exhibit integrity, leadership, and commitment to personal growth.

Application Requirements

  • Completed Scholarship Application Form
  • Official or Unofficial Transcript showing GPA and coursework
  • One Letter of Recommendation (teacher, counselor, employer, or community leader)
  • Personal Essay (500–750 words) on one of the following topics:
    • “How education will help me make a difference in my community”
    • “What leadership means to me and how I plan to lead in the future”

Award Conditions

  • Scholarship funds will be paid directly to the educational institution.
  • Recipients must maintain satisfactory academic progress to remain eligible if awarded as a renewable scholarship.
  • Scholarship recipients may be invited to attend an Abiff Lodge #21 event for recognition.
